Independent Contractor | Remote | Commission-Based
Created 36 years ago, The PCA Group of Companies (PCA) is a privately owned, global beauty holding company led by its founders and the next generation of the family. Today, PCA includes approximately 1,500 employees across five geographic locations around the world, with a focus on omnichannel distribution, fulfillment, logistics, retail, and brand support within the beauty and wellness industries.
PCA is seeking an established Senior Business Development Consultant – Beauty, Consumer Goods & 3PL to help identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the beauty, cosmetics, skincare, wellness, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and related retail industries.
This is an independent contractor consulting engagement designed for an experienced business development professional who already understands the 3PL marketplace, has relationships within the beauty and consumer goods industries, and knows how to turn opportunities into revenue.
Rather than a traditional salaried position, this opportunity is structured around business generated and revenue realized. The ideal consultant is entrepreneurial, highly connected, commercially minded, and motivated by the ability to directly participate in the value of the business they bring to PCA.
We are particularly interested in individuals who have experience selling sophisticated logistics and fulfillment solutions and who understand the operational challenges faced by growing and established beauty and consumer brands—including omnichannel fulfillment, DTC distribution, retail compliance, inventory visibility, product launches, subscription programs, warehousing, transportation, and scalability.
The Consultant will focus primarily on originating, developing, and helping PCA close new business opportunities.
Key areas of responsibility include:
This consulting opportunity is structured as a commission-based independent contractor engagement.
There is:
No base salary.
No monthly retainer.
No guaranteed draw.
No guaranteed minimum compensation.
Instead, the Consultant participates directly in the revenue generated from qualifying new business that the Consultant originates and successfully brings to PCA.
Year 1 — 2%
The Consultant will receive 2% of Commissionable Revenue generated from qualifying Eligible Accounts during the first twelve months of the applicable client relationship.
Year 2 — 1%
The Consultant will receive 1% of Commissionable Revenue generated from the applicable Eligible Account during months 13 through 24.
Year 3 and Thereafter — 0%
The commission period concludes following the completion of Year 2.
Each qualifying account has its own 24-month commission cycle, beginning when PCA first invoices the account for Commissionable Revenue.
Commissionable Revenue generally includes net revenue actually received and retained by PCA from qualifying business generated by the Consultant, including applicable:
Commission calculations are based on collected revenue rather than simply contracted or invoiced amounts.
Qualifying opportunities must be properly identified and documented as Consultant-generated business in accordance with the Independent Contractor Agreement and PCA’s business development procedures.
Commissions are generally calculated quarterly and paid following the applicable calendar quarter in accordance with the Independent Contractor Agreement.
We are looking for someone who thinks like a business builder.
For the right individual, this consulting arrangement provides an opportunity to leverage an established network and industry expertise while participating directly in the revenue generated from successful client relationships.
There is no artificial cap placed on the amount of business the Consultant can originate. The opportunity is designed for an experienced professional who is confident in their ability to open doors, develop meaningful opportunities, and convert relationships into long-term commercial partnerships.
The strongest candidates will bring substantial experience in several of the following areas:
This opportunity is best suited for someone who is:
Entrepreneurial — You enjoy developing business, opening doors, and creating opportunities rather than waiting for leads to appear.
Connected — You have built meaningful relationships within beauty, consumer goods, retail, logistics, or adjacent industries.
Commercially Minded — You understand that a successful opportunity needs to work for the client operationally while also making financial sense for PCA.
Persistent — You understand that significant business development opportunities may require extensive relationship development before reaching the finish line.
Strategic — You can identify not only immediate opportunities but also emerging brands, markets, service areas, and industry changes that could create future growth.
Independent — You are comfortable managing your own business development strategy, relationships, priorities, and workflow while maintaining visibility and accountability around your pipeline.
Relationship-Focused — You understand that long-term business is built on credibility, responsiveness, trust, and delivering what was promised.
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus but is not required where significant relevant industry experience exists.
Candidates should be comfortable working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or similar systems, Microsoft Office, virtual collaboration tools, and other business-development and logistics technologies.
This is a remote independent contractor consulting engagement.
The Consultant will maintain reasonable accessibility for PCA and client communications, business development discussions, and mutually scheduled meetings during PCA’s normal Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Eastern Time business-coverage window.
This availability window is not intended to establish a fixed daily work schedule or minimum number of hours worked. As an independent contractor, the Consultant will maintain substantial discretion over how and when consulting services are performed, subject to client commitments, agreed deliverables, deadlines, meetings, and applicable contractual requirements.
This engagement does not provide employee benefits, paid time off, health insurance, retirement benefits, or other benefits associated with employment.
If you have built a career around relationships in beauty, consumer goods, supply chain, fulfillment, or 3PL—and you know how to transform those relationships into business—we would like to speak with you.
This is an opportunity to work with an established global beauty organization while being rewarded directly for the new business and long-term client relationships you help create.
