Job Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for curating and managing the assortment of beauty products within the categories of Bath, Body and Fragrance. This role involves analyzing market trends, negotiating with brands and retailers, and ensuring the product mix aligns with brand strategy and customer demand to drive sales and profitability.
Full-time schedule, 5 days a week, may require weekend hours to meet the needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assortment Management:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive product assortment strategy that aligns with market trends and consumer demands.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for new product introductions and discontinuations and product development.
- Identify gaps and opportunities within the category to maximize sales and margin.
- Manage detailed records of all SKU-level information within the product catalog, including item maintenance and lifecycle status.
- Monitor category performance and take corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
- Brand Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with beauty brands to negotiate favorable terms and exclusive products.
- Collaborate with marketing and merchandising teams to develop and execute brand strategies that drive sales and enhance brand visibility.
- Secure and organize all required information about new products and brands, including samples, line forms, brand decks, and price lists.
- Inventory and Data Management:
- Manage and maintain and update documents such as the New Product Workbook, RTV files, Discontinued SKU Lists, and New Launch and Shipping Updates.
- Oversee item/SKU creation and lifecycle status maintenance within internal systems.
- Retailer and Vendor Coordination:
- Support vendor negotiations and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Issue ad hoc reports internally or externally as required by the Buying Team.
- Analyze market trends and sales data to inform buying decisions and optimize product assortment.
- Use data-driven insights to inform buying decisions and seasonal strategies.
- Meeting and Presentation Support:
- Prepare for internal and external meetings by compiling reports, issuing agendas, taking notes, and sending recaps post-meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Merchandising, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in buying or merchandising, preferably in beauty or retail.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong Analytical skills with proficiency in Excel
