The objective of the New Brands Buyer is focused on identifying and launching innovative brands that align with market trends and consumer demand while driving sales growth. Skilled in building strong brand and retailer partnerships, executing strategic assortments, and delivering successful product launches that enhance brand visibility and business performance.
Work Hours/Schedule
Hybrid, in office Monday-Thursday. Friday WFH. 9am -6pm
Essential Functions:
Brand Relationships
- Cultivate and manage relationships with emerging and established brand partners, ensuring alignment on distribution strategy, retailer placement, and assortment plans.
- Lead onboarding of new brands by securing and organizing all critical assets, including samples, line sheets, brand decks, and pricing structures.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (marketing, merchandising, operations) to develop and execute go-to-market strategies that increase brand awareness and drive revenue.
Assortment Management
- Develop and execute a data-driven assortment strategy aligned with market trends and customer preferences.
- Identify white space opportunities, category gaps, and emerging trends to introduce innovative and high performing brands.
- Own and maintain new product development tools, including internal assortment workbooks, ensuring accurate and timely communication across teams.
Retailer & Launch Coordination
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations for internal stakeholders and external retail partners to support new brand launches.
- Collaborate with retail partners to align launch timing and merchandising strategy.
- Assist with coordinating end-to-end launch execution, ensuring seamless communication between brands, retailers, and internal teams.
Market & Trend Analysis
- Continuously research industry trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior to inform brand selection and buying decisions.
- Attend trade shows and brand meetings to discover new opportunities and maintain category leadership.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Buying, 3 years
- Sales: 3 years (Preferred)
- Beauty & cosmetics sales: 2 year (Required)
- Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Required)
- Passion for beauty industry, brands, and products
- Enthusiastic and self-confident
- Proactive, entrepreneurial, self-starter who can identify opportunities and go after them
- Strong people skills with a focus and drive to build strong relationships both internally and externally
- Strong commercial acumen and savvy; comfortable with number and analytics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize work effectively with a high sense of urgency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, NAV, GP, Qlik and Outlook
- A willingness to learn and try new things and an openness to change; actively seeks feedback from peers and managers
